Robin Higgins Home Page Robin Higgins retired as a career officer in the United States Marine Corps, a large organization with less than 4% female officers. She is internationally known and respected, however, as the widow of Colonel William R. (Rich) Higgins, who was taken hostage in Lebanon while working for the United Nations, and later murdered by his terrorist captors.
